• Bradley D. Kronstat, CPA of Guilford has been installed as president for The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants 2017-18 activity year. Kronstat is the assistant controller of Connecticut Gardens LLC in North Branford. He holds a B.S. in accounting from Case Western University. Kronstat has served CTCPA as treasurer; as chair of the committees on state legislation, professional ethics, and business/ education/government; as a member of the board of directors and the Advisory Council; and as a member of committees on Bylaws, Executive Search, Financial Literacy, Golf Tournament, Nominating, and Publications.
• Eight members across international law firm Withers Bergman’s global offices have been promoted to partner, according to a release. Among them is Constance Shields, who is based in the firm’s New Haven office and previously served as special counsel. Shields focuses on trusts and estates, and business succession matters for wealthy individuals and their families, and “works with trusts and related business structures to preserve, protect and grow family wealth for multiple generations in a tax efficient manner,” the release said.
• Former Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance has been appointed a senior consultant at Learning Dynamics, a national training and development company based in Wallingford, according to a release. Vance “has a proven track record for preparing, delivering, and enforcing safety programs,” according to the release. “We are excited about the addition of Paul to our team. He will assist with customized versions of our ‘Safe and Sound’ workplace violence training session,” Learning Dynamics’ President Jim DeMaio said in the release.
• Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN) today announced it has appointed Jeff Cohen has been appointed news director of WNPR, Connecticut Public Broadcasting’s network of public radio stations in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and eastern Long Island affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR). “Jeff has been a vital member of the WNPR team since 2010,” Jerry Franklin, president and CEO of CPBN, said in a release. “His comprehensive knowledge of Connecticut mixed with his fresh, thorough reporting of local, regional and national issues makes him the right person to lead WNPR’s news division into the future.” Cohen, 42, has been a WNPR reporter and oc- casional host since 2010. Prior to joining WNPR, Cohen was a reporter at the Hartford Courant and the Meriden Record-Journal and was a freelance writer for the New York Times. He and his family live in Middletown. • Jeffrey Cooper of Greenwich has been promoted to associate dean for research and faculty development at the Quinnipiac University School of Law. “I am very grateful to Jeff for his energy, enthusiasm and willingness to assume these responsibilities on top of many other duties he already fulfills here,” Jennifer Brown, dean of the School of Law, said in a release. Cooper joined the faculty in 2006 after 13 years in legal practice. “One of Quinnipiac’s core strengths is the faculty’s ability to combine balancing excellent teaching with relevant legal scholarship,” Cooper said in the release. “I look forward to helping build upon that strength.” Cooper earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard and his law degree from Yale. He also has a master of laws degree from New York University.
