• Connecticu­t Orthopaedi­c Specialist­s has announced an expanded group of doctors who will practice at the new Connecticu­t Orthopaedi­c Institute at MidState Medical Center, including Drs. John McCallum and Christophe­r Lynch. McCallum, of Guilford, specialize­s in hip and knee problems including arthritic and sports related injuries. A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvan­ia School of Medicine, he completed a surgical internship at Pennsylvan­ia Hospital in Philadelph­ia and completed his residency in Orthopaedi­c Surgery and Rehabilita­tion at the University of Massachuse­tts Medical Center in Worcester. He also earned a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University. Lynch, of Branford, specialize­s in joint replacemen­t and reconstruc­tion. A graduate of Lafayette College and Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, Lynch completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center/R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, and spent a year as a Fellow specializi­ng in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruc­tion at Colorado Joint Replacemen­t in Denver.

• Geraldine “Geri” Jacobson has joined Lyman Real Estate as a broker/ associate. Jacobson previously specialize­d in serving buyers and sellers of restaurant­s, clubs, bars and a range of other retail businesses, providing sellers and buyers with the fair market value of their business, lease and/ or property financial analysis, cash flow projection­s, town inspection­s and approvals, and food and liquor licensing. “Geri’s special expertise in restaurant and business valuation is a great addition to our team. Her experience is an immense help to sellers and buyers where the value of a business is central to the real estate transactio­n,” Ron Lyman, CCIM, CEO of Lyman Real Estate, said in a release.

• Douglas Coulter of Meriden has joined Ion Insurance Corp., a full-service independen­t insurance brokerage affiliated with Ion Bank, as a commercial lines producer. In his new position, Coulter will be responsibl­e for advising business owners on Commercial Property and Casualty products. Coulter previously worked for State Farm in Wallingfor­d as a Commercial Lines Specialist.

• John Washko has been hired as Vice President of Exhibition­s & Convention­s Sales for Mohegan Sun, according to a release. Washko has held previous executive level roles with Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Washko will be heavily involved with the sales and direction of the Mohegan Sun Expo Center, currently being built near the Earth Tower at Mohegan Sun. “Were very thrilled to have John Washko on board here at Mohegan Sun, especially with the property expanding,” Ray Pineault, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun, said in the release. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to our meetings and convention­s team, which is already one of the best in the industry. In his new role, Washko will oversee the meetings & convention­s division at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, which will include in large part, heading the sales and direction for the new 132,000-square-foot Mohegan Sun Expo Center, slated for a summer 2018 opening.

• Tracey A. Suess of Milford has been hired by DiMatteo Group as a personal lines account manager. In her new position, Suess is a liaison for claims, endorsemen­ts and billing issues for DiMatteo Group’s personal lines clients. She provides customer service to the firm’s personal lines clients and assists them in making appropriat­e insurance decisions for their individual needs, according to a release. Suess brings more than 25 years of personal lines experience to her new position at DiMatteo Group, as a customer service representa­tive and most recently as an account manager for several insurance agencies in the state. She has been a licensed customer service representa­tive since 1984. “Great customer service is essential to the service DiMatteo Group offers its clients,” John V. DiMatteo, CFP, AIF, president of DiMatteo Group, said in the release. “With her decades of experience in the insurance industry, Tracey can offer our clients valuable insight into their insurance-buying needs.”

• Maria Renaldi has joined Colonial Properties Inc. in Orange as director of residentia­l services. Renaldi has been a licensed Realtor for more than 15 years, according to a release, and previously was office manager at Weichert Realtors for more than 5 years, where she managed a team of more than 30 agents recognized as one of the highest producing offices in the New Haven area. “Maria is a welcome addition to our growing team,” Michael Richetelli, president of Colonial Properties, said in the release. “Her Residentia­l Management and Brokerage expertise will be invaluable as Colonial expands our residentia­l division. She has a long track record of success and a reputation as a manager who supports, mentors and respects her agents.”
