Middletown schools offer breakfast, lunch
MIDDLETOWN » The Middletown Public Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) as part of the National School Lunch Program for school year 20172018. Under this provision, participating districts and schools provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at all times.
All students enrolled at the following schools will receive meals through the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program at no charge. Household income applications are no longer required to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price meals at schools participating in the CEP.
All students attending the following schools will be provided breakfast and lunch at no charge: Bielefield Elementary School; Farm Hill Elementary School; AND Macdonough Elementary School

DRS to hold charity golf tournament
MIDDLETOWN » Disaster Restoration Services (DRS), a member company of DKI, North America’s largest disaster restoration contracting organization, today announced they will be hosting their first charity golf tournament on Aug. 17 at Lyman Orchards Golf Club on Lyman Road. All proceeds will go to the Connecticut Burn Care Foundation and Connecticut Food Bank.
The 18-hole tournament will be held at Robert Trent Jones Course at 9 a.m. All golfers will compete in scramble-format, and prizes will be awarded for putting, longest drive, hole-in-one and other contests.
Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase. Prizes include electronics, gift cards, sports tickets and more.

Durham Fair needs volunteers
DURHAM » Do you love the Durham Fair and want to get involved? As a non-profit and all volunteer Fair, it depends on the local community to help host Connecticut’s Largest Agricultural Fair.
The 98th Annual Durham Fair is Sept. 21-24. A big need is for help with the gates; ticket sellers, ticket takers, hand stampers. Not only is it fun to greet visitors from all over New England, but you also get a free ticket and parking pass to the Fair. To volunteer, email lisag33@icloud.com.
