Shoreline Sharks to hold fall hockey clinics
EAST HAVEN » Shoreline Sharks, a girls youth hockey association, opened registration for their fall “beginner” clinics. Designed for girls from ages 3 – 16 to introduce the fundamentals of skating and hockey, the hour-long, weekly clinics start Sept. 10th and are held Sunday afternoons at the East Haven Ice Rink.
4-Week Intro to Hockey Clinic: The Intro to Hockey Clinic gives participants a chance to try the sport in a shorter format, without any further commitment. The cost is $40 for all ages. At the end of the session, participants will have the opportunity to join the Learn to Play Clinic.
20-Week Learn to Play Hockey Clinic: The comprehensive Learn to Play Clinic builds skills in a fun and challenging environment. Girls are divided by age and ability into our SandSharks (3-10) or Junior Sharks (11+) and work on skating skills, puck control, passing and shooting. Tuition is $400. SandSharks 8 and under participate for FREE, and those 10 and under and new to the organization are eligible for a 50% discount.
The development clinics are led by seasoned hockey coaches, Bill Greim and Rick Gedney, who have coached at all levels, from beginners through the high school level, love the game and enjoy working with beginners. The USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM) is used as a guide and provides a proven systematic approach to age-appropriate skill development. Register at shorelinesharkshockey.com.
