OLD SAYBROOK » Performing at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center on Sept. 16 will be Old Saybrook resident and blues rock singer-songwriter Tom “The Suit” Forst. “The Suit” is a special guest of the Dylan Doyle Band. Show time is 7 p.m.

Forst will be performing songs from his 2016 album “On Fire,” including his radio single “Still On The Run,” which is currently impacting on international blues and roots rock radio. The album track features Grammy Award winning guitarist and producer Paul Nelson of the Johnny Winter Band on electric slide guitar solo.

Known for his formal stage attire and flamboyant stage performance, His nickname, “The Suit,” goes back to his days in the corporate world as a vice president with Cox Communications, a life that he left behind at the age of 57. The former television ad-executive had just paid the last college tuition bill for his children, and decided it was time to put his passion for music to work full time. Now 65 years of age, Tom Forst is “Still On The Run” with no sign of slowing down.

Tom “The Suit” Forst’s unique story was featured by Channel 12 News Connecticut in 2017 and was covered by the Norwalk Hour newspaper.

In addition to playing music, Forst is an outspoken advocate of social causes including women’s rights and female empowerment. On the eve of the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., he released a lyric video for his song, “Women of the World,” that celebrates pioneering women of history.
