Concert association announces 2017-18 season of performances
MIDDLETOWN » The 2017-28 season of the Greater Middletown Concert Association, including five touring concerts and operas, will begin on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. with Debra Mann, the noted jazz pianist/vocalist and the Debra Mann Jazz Quintet.
On Saturday evening, Nov. 18, Mozart’s delightful opera “The Magic Flute” will be sung and staged by the Connecticut Lyric Opera with the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.
On Feb. 11 at 3 p.m., Sol Y Canto will come To Middletown with its nationally touring Latin ensemble led by acclaimed Rosi and Brian Amidor.
The Modernistics will present “Song and Dance from the Great American Song Book” on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. and the immortal Verdi opera “Aida”, will be presented by the Connecticut Lyric Opera and the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m.
All the concerts and operas that will be brought to Middletown by the Greater Middletown Concert Association this season will be presented in the new MHS Performing Arts Center, 200 LaRosa Lane, in Middletown. Tickets and series subscriptions are now available and may be purchased by calling 860 343-7555.
Individual concert tickets are $35 (front) and $30 (rear) and opera tickets are $40 (front) and $35 (rear). The concert series of three concerts is $90 (front) and $75 (rear).
The opera series of two operas is $75 (front) and $65 (rear). A bargain subscription is offered for the entire five performances at $160 (front) and $135 (rear).
