Comedy ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ opens in October

SUFFIELD » Shakespear­e’s wittiest comedy meets the Roaring ’20s in the Suffield Players’ production of “Much Ado About Nothing,” adapted and directed by Chris Rohmann.

“Much Ado About Nothing” will be performed Oct. 5-7, Oct. 13-15, and Oct. 2021 at 8 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Oct. 15.

All shows will be held at Mapleton Hall, 1305 Mapleton Avenue, Suffield.

Theatergoe­rs will enjoy two very different love stories in this production: The dramatic romance of true lovers Hero and Claudio, and the brilliant and biting courtship of Beatrice and Benedick. Add in some clowns and connivers, and Shakespear­e’s beautiful language— and a classic comedy comes to life, set during the wild and wonderful 1920’s. This show is recommende­d for ages 13 and up.
