Kutztown University
KUTZTOWN, Pennsylvania — Katie Seegert of Old Saybrook has been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Kutztown University. To be eligible, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade-point average of 3.60.
Pennsylvania College of Technology
WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania — The fall 2017 dean’s list has been announced at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Local students named include: Austen J. Caron, Higganum, bachelor of science, building automation technology; Jonathon M. Conway, Durham, associate of applied science, diesel technology; and Evan M. Slawinowski, Durham, associate of applied science, diesel technology
Pennsylvania State University
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania — Pennsylvania State University recognizes full-time undergraduate students for its dean’s list who achieve a grade-point average of at least a 3.5.
Olivia Melillo of Cromwell was named to the fall semester 2017 list with a 3.8 grade-point average. She is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders.
Providence College
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Alexandra DeFrance of Middletown, a member of the class of 2020 at Providence College, is a 2016 graduate of Middletown High School and a premed major. She was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. To qualify, students must achieve at least a 3.55 gradepoint average with a minimum of 12 credits.
Nazareth College
ROCHESTER, New York — Nazareth College announces Emily Pattavina of Higganum has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. Pattavina is majoring in communication science and disorders and minoring in Spanish. A student’s grade-point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean’s list at Nazareth.
Eastern Connecticut State University
WILLIMANTIC — Four political science majors from Eastern Connecticut State University presented original research at the Northeastern Political Science Association meeting in November in Philadelphia.
Among the students was Mikhela Hull ‘18 of Clinton, who majors in political science and sociology. Hull gave a presentation titled “Explaining Child Protection Policy Failure.”
“My experience at the conference was extremely rewarding,” Hull said in a prepared statement. “I was very nervous to present because I had never presented my own research before, but my professor and the other students I attended the conference with really helped calm my nerves.”
Colby-Sawyer College
NEW LONDON, New Hampshire — Colby-Sawyer College recognized students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2017 fall semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses. Those honored include Bridget Turecek of Middlefield, a member of the class of 2021 majoring in biology.
Hamilton College
CLINTON, New York — Claire V. Curran, daughter of Andrew and Jennifer Curran of Middletown, has been named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College for the 2017 fall semester. To be named, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above.
Curran, a sophomore, is a graduate of Middletown High School.
