Jansen joins Essex Wellness Center/Fitness On The Water

WESTBROOK — Functional Medicine Nutritionist Brigitta Jansen has joined Essex Wellness Center/ Fitness on the Water’s team of wellness professionals. Jansen will service clients at both facilities needed assistance addressing the root cause of chronic disease instead of just managing symptoms.

“I am pleased to add Brigitta’s expertise to our roster of services,” said Heidi Kunzli, founder of Essex Wellness Center and Fitness on the Water, in a statement. “Her experience treating a variety of clientele and chronic issues complements our entire array of offerings at both facilities. Her passion to help people and support the body in healing itself follows the day-to-day goals we have through our mind body offerings.”

Accorrding to the statement, Jansen utilizes blood chemistry, metabolic testing, GI panels, food sensitivity testing, genetic and hormone testing and diet and health history to determine one’s nutrient needs. Her focus is especially on healing the gut using the 5R program, as well as gentle detoxing and rebalancing of nutrient levels. Many chronic conditions have been linked to gut dysbiosis and high toxin levels, including autoimmune disorders, autism, depression, anxiety, skin issues, weight problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and more.

Jansen is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Bridgeport (Masters in Human Nutrition), and holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from University College London, UK. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the American College of Nutrition.
