Staff Reports

The Prof Gallitto girls basketball program held its championship games recently.

In the grades 3 - 5 division, the tournament champion was the team sponsored by Minuteman Press.

The team sponsored by Perceptions Photography was runner-up.

In the grades 6 - 8 division, the tournament champion was the team sponsored by Illiano's Restaurant on Washington St. Second place went to the team sponsored by Mobile 1 Lube Express on Washington and Newfield Streets.

The coaches for the Minuteman Press team arranged to have the players wear commemorative wrist bands and t-shirts for the championship game in memory of a former player, Tanaja Green, who passed away from cancer at the age of 26.

On February 25, the league presented a lifetime achievement plaque to Eddie Heyward White. For more than two decades he has been a coach, mentor, and referee for the youth of Middletown, both girls and boys.
