Jets sign free agent TE Hodges

The New York Jets signed tight end Bucky Hodges. The team announced the move a day after New York claimed tight end Clive Walford off waivers from Oakland. Hodges was a sixth-round draft pick of Minnesota last year out of Virginia Tech, where he had 133 catches for 1,747 yards and 20 touchdowns in three seasons. The 6-foot-6, 257-pound Hodges was waived-injured last September after suffering a concussion in the Vikings’ preseason finale . ... Bill Rademacher, a two-way player for the Jets in their early years, has died. He was 75. A wide receiver and defensive back for five seasons who played on the franchise’s only Super Bowl champion, Rademacher was an undrafted free agent from Northern Michigan who made the AFL team in 1964 as a receiver. Taylor Sr. has re-signed with the Redskins after missing the past three NFL seasons with injuries. Taylor was slated to start for Washington last season before getting hurt in a preseason game . ... Free agent wide receiver and special teams player Dwayne Harris signed with the Raiders. Harris played only five games for the Giants last season before going on the reserve/injured list with a hurt foot. He returned nine kickoffs for 188 yards.
