WATERBURY — The Palace Theater has finalized its 2018-19 Webster Broadway series, and with a Broadway blockbuster, some new titles and a returning favorite, it’s certain to be a magical season for theater lovers, theater officials said in a release.

The season begins in October with “The Illusionists” direct from Broadway, followed by everybody’s favorite reindeer, “Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer: The Musical,” which prances into town in December, just in time for the holiday season. The season continues with everybody’s darling, Elle Woods, in “Legally Blonde” in February, then roars like a lion in March when the high-energy “Tap Dogs” commandeer the Palace stage.

In April, “The Book Of Mormon,” winner of nine Tony Awards, will play a limited, one-week engagement. The New York Times calls it “the best musical of this century,” and Entertainment Weekly says it’s “the funniest musical of all time.”

Rounding things out in May is the razzle dazzle of Broadway’s No. 1, longest-running American musical, “Chicago.”

This non-stop show is packed with thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions, according to the theater.

⏩ “Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer: The Musical,” Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The beloved TV classic soars off the screen and onto the stage this holiday season.
