Nancy Ann (Loveland) Wimler, 87, of Durham, beloved wife of Lawrence “Andy” Wimler for sixty-seven and a half years, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, May 18, 2018. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillie (Gastler) Loveland.

Nancy lived in Durham all of her life and was a devoted farmer’s wife and mother who enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing garden vegetables and fruits to be enjoyed all year round. She also enjoyed braiding rugs, working on cane chairs and knitting. Throughout her life, Nancy worked at Durham Korn School Cafeteria, Lyman Orchards Farm Store, Morse & Otte Market and the Durham Pharmacy. She was a member of Church of the Epiphany where she was part of the vestry, member of Durham Grange P of H 57, Durham Laurelites Homemakers, Durham Public School Associatio­n, Durham 60 + Club, and a judge at the Durham Fair for Canning & Baking and the State Apple Pie Contest.

Along with her husband, Nancy is survived by her son, William C. Wimler and his wife, Deborah of Durham, two grandchild­ren, Heather E. Wimler and Amy R. Cardoza and five great grandchild­ren, Travis and Sara Holder and Dylan, Rylee and Brady Cardoza. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her daughter, Laurie A. Wimler and her sister, Caroline Parmelee.

The Wimler family would like to say a special thank you to Companions and Homemakers especially Midiam and to the Middlesex Hospital Home Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in Mica Hill Cemetery in Durham.
