Rep. Carpino announces re-election bid for 5th term
CROMWELL — State Rep. Christie Carpino, R-32, is seeking a fifth term to the Connecticut House of Representatives this November to represent the district consisting of Cromwell and Portland.
“I pledge to continue putting public service over politics,” Carpino said in a prepared statement. “All of my time at the state Capitol is making sure the voices of Cromwell and Portland families are heard loud and clear. If re-elected, my focus will remain on creating a safe and affordable community where families thrive and businesses continue to grow.”
“Christie helps because she truly cares,” Amanda Drew, Cromwell Board of Finance member, said in a release. “She is a rare public servant — genuine. She has proven that she is serious about representing Cromwell and Portland and has earned my support.”
“You can always count on Christie. She has done a wonderful job for Portland and continues to be a tireless advocate for our town and the families who make up our community,” Portland Selectman Mike Pelton said.
Carpino has worked on legislation to safeguard children, advance the economy, and improve the health and safety of Connecticut residents, the release said.
“Christie is always there for us. We are lucky to have her represent Cromwell. Whether the issue is statewide or troubles one family, Christie is there to lend a helping hand,” Cromwell Mayor Enzo Faienza said in the statement.
Carpino serves on the legislature’s Judiciary and Public Health committees and House Chairman of the Regulations Review committee. In addition, she has been chosen by her peers as vice chair of the legislature’s School Safety Working Group, and is a longtime member of the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities caucus.
Carpino received the unanimous endorsement of the Portland and Cromwell delegates at her nominating convention.
