Gino Sebastian Monarca, 60 years old, passed away unexpected­ly at his home in Middletown, CT on Tuesday, May 22nd. He was the cherished husband of Nella (Morello) Monarca for 32 years. Born in Middletown on June 3, 1957, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Angelina Monarca. Gino lived in Middletown his entire life and attended Middletown schools. He was employed as Manager of Bob’s Stores for 36 years and most recently as Manager for Raymour & Flanigan.

Gino and Nella were members of Victory Church in Middletown until they were called to serve as founding members of the new Freedom House Christian Church in North Branford, CT. He enjoyed long drives with his wife and was an avid football fan, especially of the NY Giants. He will be remembered for his strong family values, work ethic, and strong faith.

He is survived by his daughter Alicia and her husband Xavier Mourad of Middletown, and a sister, Maria Gennaro, of Middletown. Gino will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gino’s wife and daughter invite family and friends to breakfast at Bill Miller’s Castle, 834 East Main Street (Route 1) in Branford, CT at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30. A Celebratio­n of Gino’s life will immediatel­y follow at the Castle. Burial at Indian Hill Cemetery in Middletown will follow the ceremony.

Family and friends may call at the D’Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St, Middletown on Tuesday, May 29th from 5-8 p.m.
