MYSTIC TOUCH TANK: Mystic Aquarium: Traveling Touch Tank will be at the Russell Library on Monday, June 25, 10 am. in the Activity Room, Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown. Children and their families will learn about sea animals and take turns touching lobsters, horseshoe crabs and shellfish. For children ages birth to 18 and their families. Drop in; no registrati­on required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Russell Library.

JUNE BIRTHDAYS: June Birthday Bash at the East Hampton Senior Center, Monday, June 25 starting at 12 p.m. Birthday Babes enjoy a free lunch, cake and ice cream. A $2.50 donation toward the CRT is asked from the guests on the day of. Sign up at the front desk if planning on attending.

SUMMER SING: Summer Sing Mendelssoh­n’s “Elijah,” with Capella Cantorum and Con Brio, Monday, June 25, 7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 56 Great Hammock Road, Old Saybrook, conducted by Steve Bruce of Con Brio. BRAIN HEALTH: Language for Brain Health Workshop, with Dr. Helen Evrard, June 26, 6 pm. in the Hubbard Room, Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown. Dr. Evrard will share her personal journey with depression, and help participan­ts minimize its impact on themselves and others. Dr. Evrard is the author of “Positive Matters: Words, Quotations, and Stories to Heal and Inspire,” and the co-creator with Middletown artist Kimberly Barcello of the companion Positive Pulls, decorated wooden sticks that allow selection of a single word for reflection, insight, and discovery. GIVE BACK NIGHT FOR ALZHEIMER’S: On June 26 from 5-9 p.m., Mondo Restaurant in Middletown will host the 4th Annual Give Back Night for Alzheimer’s, donating 10% of all sales, dine in and take out, to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n in support of the Water’s Edge 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team. ROCKS & FOSSILS: Rocks & Fossils Presentati­on, June 26, 6:30 p.m. at the Portland Library. Bud Poulin has rocks, fossils and minerals which he has collected over the years; his passion as a rock hound began as a young boy. He is a member of the Lapidary & Mineral Society of Central Connecticu­t and has a lot of interestin­g facts about the rocks and minerals in our area as well as the multitude of quarries in our town. His presentati­on is suitable for ages 8 to 99.

Musical Movies in the Afternoon at the Portland Library, June 27, 1 p.m. See an 1971 American musical comedy-drama film (an adaptation of the 1964 Broadway musical of the same name). Starring Topol, Norma Crane, Leonard Frey, Molly Picon, and Paul Mann, the film centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives.
