EMBLEM CLUB: The Middletown Emblem Club #452 will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 11, 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, Crystal Ballroom. President Sue Charter, presiding. Teddy Bear Workshops will continue throughout the summer each second Tuesday of the month at the Elks Lodge. #452 is hosting the 1st state meeting on Sunday, Aug. 19. POT LUCK DINNERS: First Congregati­onal Church in Cromwell will be hosting Summer Community Pot Luck Dinners on July 11 and Aug. 8. The dinners are free and open to the public and start at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 355 Main St., with parking just north of the church.

MUSIC AT THE MANSION: The Friends of Long Hill Estate and the Long Hill Estate Authority with sponsorshi­p from Middlesex Hospital host the Music at the (Wadsworth) Mansion series in July. All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.; grounds open for picknickin­g at 5:30 p.m. Concerts will be held in light rain or the threat of showers, but cancelled with the proximity of electrical storms. FREE LUNCHES: Families can visit the Deep River Public Library’s Children’s Garden, on Thursdays starting July 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., to receive a bag of nutritious food. Arts and crafts will also be available for the children. Program sponsors are looking for volunteer help and food donations, especially easy-to-carry, kid-friendly, nutritious lunch and snack items.
