Special Olympics Connecticut sent a team to participate in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Wash., July 1-6. Team Connecticut members represented the state and compete in golf, tennis, bowling, track & field, swimming and basketball at the USA Games. The delegation also included coaches, volunteers, youth leaders, and a Unified team of brothers who competed in a video gaming tournament sponsored by Microsoft. The Special Olympics USA Games included more than 4,000 Special Olympics athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the District of Columbia to Seattle to compete before tens of thousands of spectators and volunteers. The event also celebrated Special Olympics’ 50th anniversary this year.
