UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Massachuse­tts — Spencer Gifford of Killingwor­th is among the largest graduating class in UMass Lowell’s history. Gifford received a bachelor of science in public health May 19.

Western Governors University

SALT LAKE CITY — The following local residents received their degree from Western Governors University: Justin Murray of Middletown earned a bachelor of science in business management, Kaelene Zuromski of Middletown earned a bachelor of science in nursing and Tiffany Ruvolo of Middletown earned a master of science in curriculum and instructio­n.

Three Rivers Community College

NORWICH — Three Rivers Community College has released the spring dean’s list for the spring semester. Students earn their place by receiving a 3.4 or higher GPA based on a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Students are: Carol M. Schmardel, Clinton; Molly Curry, East Haddam; Matthew A. Kerkes, East Haddam; Haylie J. Kerkes, East Haddam; Eryn Bosworth, Ivoryton; Brian A. Ghilliotti, Middletown; Kathleen T. Molski, Middletown; Natasha L. Knight, Moodus; Michael K. Macek, Old Saybrook; Jeremy S. Woodruff, Old Saybrook; and Kathleen M. Knittel, Westbrook.

University of Maine

FARMINGTON, Maine — The University of Maine at Farmington announces its dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. They are: Durham resident Amelia Gagner, Essex resident Quinn Carey and Westbrook resident Lauren Hickey.

UMF maintains a dean’s list each semester for those students completing a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. Students whose GPA for the semester is equal to or greater than 3.8 are listed with high academic achievemen­t. Students whose GPA for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 are listed with academic achievemen­t.

Stonehill College

EASTON, Massachuse­tts — A number of local students have been named to the spring dean’s List at Stonehill College. To qualify, students must have a semester GPA of 3.50 or better and must have completed successful­ly all courses for which they were registered.

They are: Daniel Stouffer of Middletown, Chanel Johnson of Middletown, Leslie Clapp of Deep River, Renee Radavich of East Hampton and Peter Goggins of Middletown.

St. Lawrence University

CANTON, New York — The following students have been selected for the dean’s list during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University.

Rose Bingham Esselstyn of Higganum, Class of 2021. Esselstyn attended Kingswood-Oxford School.

William E. Garrity of Middletown, Class of 2018, majoring in economics and business in the liberal arts. Garrity attended Xavier High School.

Hannah Halsey of Essex, Class of 2020, majoring in English.

Holly Riccitelli of Deep River, Class of 2019, majoring in biology. Riccitelli attended Valley Regional High School.

Margareta Lane Nystrom of Killingwor­th, Class of 2021. Nystrom attended Haddam Killingwor­th High School.

To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

U.S. Military Academy

WEST POINT, New York — Connecticu­t students who have accepted appointmen­t to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, include Middlesex County residents.

Samantha Houle of Middletown; and Jocelyn Stearns of Cromwell.

University of Kansas

LAWRENCE — Madison Elizabeth Heil of Portland earned her degree from the University of Kansas in June. She graduated with a master’s of occupation­al therapy.

Gettysburg College

GETTYSBURG, PA — Gettysburg College students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester’s work were recently placed on the deans’ commendati­on list for the spring semester: Alyssa DiMaria of Clinton and Caitlin Glance of Deep River.

University of Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. — University of Oklahoma Norman student and East Hampton resident Andrew James Morse was named to the campus honor roll for the spring 2018 semester.

In most colleges, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be included on the honor roll. Students in the College of Architectu­re are recognized with a 3.3 or better, and students in the College of Engineerin­g are recognized with a 3.0 or better.

Georgia Institute of Technology

ATLANTA, Georgia — Anna Shevchenko of Middletown has earned a master of science degree in computer sience from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She was among approximat­ely 3,700 undergradu­ate and graduate students who received degrees May 4 to 5.

Colby-Sawyer College

NEW LONDON, New Hampshire — Colby-Sawyer celebrated its 180th commenceme­nt May 5, awarding degrees to students including Nicholas Dibble of Old Saybrook, whoe graduated with a bachelor of science degree in environmen­tal studies.

Fairfield University

FAIRFIELD — The following Fairfield University students from Middletown graduated May 20: Sean Collins and Melissa Villalobos.
