College students earn accolades and graduate
UMass Lowell
LOWELL, Massachusetts — Spencer Gifford of Killingworth is among the largest graduating class in UMass Lowell’s history. Gifford received a bachelor of science in public health May 19.
Western Governors University
SALT LAKE CITY — The following local residents received their degree from Western Governors University: Justin Murray of Middletown earned a bachelor of science in business management, Kaelene Zuromski of Middletown earned a bachelor of science in nursing and Tiffany Ruvolo of Middletown earned a master of science in curriculum and instruction.
Three Rivers Community College
NORWICH — Three Rivers Community College has released the spring dean’s list for the spring semester. Students earn their place by receiving a 3.4 or higher GPA based on a minimum of 12 credit hours.

University of Maine
FARMINGTON, Maine — The University of Maine at Farmington announces its dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. They are: Durham resident Amelia Gagner, Essex resident Quinn Carey and Westbrook resident Lauren Hickey.
UMF maintains a dean’s list each semester for those students completing a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. Students whose GPA for the semester is equal to or greater than 3.8 are listed with high academic achievement. Students whose GPA for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 are listed with academic achievement.
Stonehill College
EASTON, Massachusetts — A number of local students have been named to the spring dean’s List at Stonehill College. To qualify, students must have a semester GPA of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
U.S. Military Academy
WEST POINT, New York — Connecticut students who have accepted appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, include Middlesex County residents.

University of Kansas
LAWRENCE — Madison Elizabeth Heil of Portland earned her degree from the University of Kansas in June. She graduated with a master’s of occupational therapy.
Gettysburg College
GETTYSBURG, PA — Gettysburg College students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester’s work were recently placed on the deans’ commendation list for the spring semester: Alyssa DiMaria of Clinton and Caitlin Glance of Deep River.
University of Oklahoma
NORMAN, Okla. — University of Oklahoma Norman student and East Hampton resident Andrew James Morse was named to the campus honor roll for the spring 2018 semester.
In most colleges, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be included on the honor roll. Students in the College of Architecture are recognized with a 3.3 or better, and students in the College of Engineering are recognized with a 3.0 or better.
Georgia Institute of Technology
ATLANTA, Georgia — Anna Shevchenko of Middletown has earned a master of science degree in computer sience from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She was among approximately 3,700 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees May 4 to 5.
Colby-Sawyer College
NEW LONDON, New Hampshire — Colby-Sawyer celebrated its 180th commencement May 5, awarding degrees to students including Nicholas Dibble of Old Saybrook, whoe graduated with a bachelor of science degree in environmental studies.
Fairfield University
FAIRFIELD — The following Fairfield University students from Middletown graduated May 20: Sean Collins and Melissa Villalobos.
