Thomas McKeon, 83, of North Haven passed away Thursday, July 19th, 2018, surrounded by his loving family as his grandson Greg sang his favorite Irish songs. He was born in 1934 in the town of Kilnagross, County Leitrim, Ireland, a son of the late John and Nellie Carney McKeon. He arrived here in the United States in 1956 and for many years he and his buddy Pete Burke owned and ran The Country Club Bar and Grill in Hamden, CT, and he also worked at the Regional Water Authority for over forty years before his first grandson was born. Then he retired to start his most important job, being a grandpa. He was a lifetime member of the Irish American Community Center and New Haven Gaelic Football and Hurling Club. Thomas was the loving, devoted husband of Teresa Kennedy McKeon for fifty two years. Along with Teresa he leaves behind his son Thomas (Kathleen) McKeon of Trumbull, his daughter Geraldine (Matthew) Zajkowski of Hamden, his grandchild­ren, Greg, Danny and Ben and many nieces and nephews, here and around the world. He was predecease­d by his siblings, Bernie McKeon, Aloysius McKeon and Kathleen McKeon Kennedy. The McKeon family would like to thank everyone at the CT. Hospice in Branford for their graceful services. Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tuesday morning at 11:00.
