Electric Car Show back to East Hampton

EAST HAMPTON — The East Hampton and Portland Clean Energy Task Forces are organizing the Second Annual “Electric Car Show” on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Sears Park, 12-4 p.m. with a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 9. The show will showcase electric, hybrid, and alternativ­e fuel cars from various dealership­s including Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, BMW and others.

The Clean Energy Task Forces are volunteer committees dedicated to promoting green energy alternativ­es in their towns. The event is also sponsored by the East Hampton Parks and Recreation Dept.

The Task Forces are also inviting any town residents who own any electric, hybrid or alternativ­e fuel vehicle to show off their clean energy machine too. There is no registrati­on fee. The deadline to register avehicle for the show is Friday, Aug. 24. Register by contacting the East Hampton Clean Energy Task Force at ehcetf@gmail.com or call us 860-3651296. Residents are also invited to show off other vehicles too, not just cars — bikes, scooters or anything that moves are all welcome.

Registrati­on is also open, at no charge, to any town groups, nonprofits, associatio­ns or clubs that would like to have a booth at the show to educate and inform the town about themselves. The show will feature music, raffles, and food, provided by the Dublin Beef & Seafood Co.
