Bikes receive top awards at event

MIDDLETOWN — The awards for bikes that caught the judges’ eyes during the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s 13th annual Middletown Motorcycle Mania have been announced.

The annual event is in memory of Dan M. Hunter, a founding sponsor and original committee member of Middletown Motorcycle Mania.

More than 7,000 bikes and over 12,500 spectators filled the downtown Middletown area for what has become the largest one day summer motorcycle event in New England, according to a news release.

⏩ Vern A. Hunter Vintage Bike Award, in Loving Memory of Vern and Barbara Hunter, presented by Hunter’s Ambulance and Hunter Limousines, to Joe Loguidice, of Old Lyme, for his 1958 Lombretta TV 175 Series 1.

⏩ Best Vintage American Bike Award presented by Hunter’s Ambulance & Hunter Limousines, to Albert Sylvester, of Southingto­n, for his 1977 Harley Davidson Café Racer.

⏩ Best Vintage British Bike Award presented by Hunter’s Ambulance & Hunter Limousines to Joe Crescimann­o, of Middletown, for his 1978 Triumph Bonneville 750.

⏩ Best Vintage European Bike Award presented by Hunter’s Ambulance & Hunter Limousine to Maine Smith, of Cheshire, for his 1936 BMW R12.

⏩ Best Vintage Japanese Bike Award presented by Hunter’s Ambulance & Hunter Limousines to Dave Block, of Plymouth, for his 1982 Honda CBX.

⏩ Dan M. Hunter “Functional­ity with Style” Award presented by Hunter’s Ambulance & Hunter Limousines to Mike Serio, of Madison, for his 2010 Harley Davison Soft Tail Deluxe.

⏩ The Haymond Law Award presented by Haymond Law Office to Tony Schiavone, of Middletown, for his 2007 Harley Davidson Ultra.

⏩ Liberty’s Choice Award presented by Liberty Bank to Matt H., of Meriden, for his 2009 Honda CBR1000RR.

⏩ Dimitri Moore Memorial Award presented by Eli Cannon’s to Gary Roegiers, of Middletown, for his 2009 Custom Prostreet.

⏩ C. Oscar Hedström Award presented by Brookfield Indian Motorcycle to Joseph Chehy, of Warwick, Rhode Island, for his 2014 Indian Vintage.

⏩ The Gengras Elite Award presented by Gengras Motorcycle­s to Bob Vincent, of Middletown, for his 1997 Harley Davidson Heritage Springer FLSTS.

⏩ The DBD Farkle Award presented by Downtown Business District to John LaRosa, of Middletown, for his 2005 Harley Softail.

⏩ Indian Motorcycle of Springfiel­d Choice Award presented by Indian Motorcycle of Springfiel­d to Joe Adamowicz, of Cromwell, for his 1962 Harley Davidson PanHead.

⏩ All-American Bike Award presented by Bank of America to Kevin Fitzgerald, of South Bridge, Massachuse­tts, for his 2000 Harley Davidson 1200 XLH Sportster.

⏩ The Flood Choice Award presented by The Flood Law Firm to Jay Flannigan, of Durham, for his 2005 Harley Heritage.

⏩ MedExpress Choice Award presented by MedExpress Urgent Care to Scott Santor, of Spencer, Mass., for his 2011 Hand Built Custom Chopper.
