Elect Ziobron to Senate for financial stewardship
I’m voting for Melissa Ziobron for state Senate in the 33rd District Nov. 6 for a many reasons, but here is the main one: Melissa has been a good financial steward of the money I’ve sent to Hartford for the last six years.
As a state representative for three terms in the 34th, she has risen to be the ranking member on the Appropriations Committee, which is no small feat, and was instrumental in instituting a constitutional spending cap of last year’s budget agreement. Melissa’s peers have lauded her state budget acumen, as she appears to know every line item, its associated cost, and whether we can afford it.
She is the only legislator who consistently votes against all judicial nominations due to severe underfunding in the Judiciary branch, the subsequent lack of support staff for these appointments, and the future pension liabilities the positions incur. Melissa worked to maintain ECS funding to municipalities throughout the state, which the current administration proposed to greatly reduce or eliminate.
And, finally, Melissa is the only legislator in Hartford who has refused public money for informational mailings to constituents, preferring instead to reach out with news and information via social media, personal contact and other means, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars.
For all this, and much more, Melissa Ziobron is the person I want to represent me in the state Senate. Her extensive legislative experience, and respect from both sides of the aisle, means no wasted time learning what needs to be done. She has shown that she values my hard-earned money and yours, and works tirelessly to make sure it is spent appropriately. Join me on Nov. 6 to elect Melissa Ziobron as state Senator for the 33rd District.
