River Museum program features aerial adventures
ESSEX — The Connecticut River Museum will present a program detailing the aerial adventures of Jerry and Tom as they delve into the four major regions of the river, with breathtaking photography and historical backgrounds of towns along the River from the source to the Sound. The program will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
The book displays photographs by pilot Tom Walsh with narration by historian Jerry Roberts. Together they create an impressive account of the 410 miles of the Connecticut River.
Jerry Roberts is a 34-year museum professional with a background as an exhibit designer, writer, documentarian and museum executive. He has served as vice president in charge of exhibits at the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum in New York City, executive director of the Connecticut River Museum in Essex and executive director of the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks.
Tom Walsh is a former U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot who is now a senior international captain for a major US airline. Through his company, Shoreline Aerial Photography, he has photographed thousands of sites all over the U.S. for major corporations and private individuals.
The Connecticut River Museum is located at 67 Main Street on the Essex waterfront and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
