Hamden Realtor turned in his hard hat for real estate license

It took an injury while working as a construction supervisor for Eric Radziunas to turn his hard hat in for his real estate license. Before he became a Realtor in 2009, Radziunas spent 25 years in construction learning all aspects of home building and remodeling. This knowledge translated well into a real estate career, where he has been named to the Coldwell Banker Diamond Society which recognizes the top 10 percent of Coldwell Banker agents nationwide.

Radziunas also holds a State of Connecticut Building Officials License (CI) and uses that expertise to point out important construction-related aspects of their purchase or sale — both good and bad — and clients appreciate his honesty.

He developed a rapport for working with people at an early age, while working at his family’s service station, Radz Service Center, in North Haven.

“That is when I learned how to respect the consumer,” he explains.

Radziunas treats every client as if they were his No. 1 priority. For sellers, he believes that the best marketing tool is pricing.

“I am very honest with sellers about what their home is worth,” Radziunas said. “I would rather not list it if it’s priced to high. I always tell them, ‘I am here to sell your home, not just list it’”.

An admitted technology geek, Radziunas also loves photography and puts his passion for both into his career.

“I am always first to try new offerings. Coldwell Banker offers the most up to date technology for marketing and transaction coordination, so I will even teach other agents how to use the technology.”

Radziunas also takes his own listing photos and is pursuing his FAA license to be able to take aerial drone photos.

To Radziunas, the most rewarding part of his career is handing clients the keys to their new home.

“The look on their faces is something you never forget,” he said. “This business revolves around clients making the biggest purchase of their lives, not to mention the start of something new. I have made some very good friends from being a Realtor and hope to make many more.”
