INVASIVE PLANT CLEANUP: A fall invasive plant cleanup will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Haddam Meadows State Park, in conjunctio­n with the CT River Conservanc­y’s Source to Sea annual cleanup. Rain date Oct. 6. Meet in the open area left of the boat launch. Adults and youths can help removing oriental bitterswee­t and other invasives and/ or picking up litter. Volunteers with dump trucks and Haddam stickers are needed. The second invasive plant cleanup will be Oct. 13, rain date Oct. 20. To register email Cherry Czuba at cherylczub­a@comcast.net.

FOOD DRIVE: A food drive for Hinka’s Cupboard will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of both entrances to Stop and Shop, East Main Street, Middletown, hosted by membes of the Middletown Emblem Club #452. Hinka’s Cupboard is open on the last Thursday of each month to anyone who needs food. Annette Silverman founded the Food Pantry at 10 Elm St. in the basement of St. Francis of Assisi Church. The need is great for any and all non-perishable items. Monetary donations are also welcome.

CRAFTS FOR ADULTS: Crafts for Adults: Creating New Things from Old, will be held Sept. 28, 11 a.m. in the Hubbard Room, Russell Library, 123 Broad Street, Middletown. The library will provide materials to complete the craft. Those with a certain craft or project in mind may bring your own materials, and share your idea with others.
