Realtor explores new career path after retiring from sales career

- Vin Masotta

After retiring from the local phone company in the project management and sales in 2003, Vin Masotta felt that real estate would make a good second career.

“I just felt real estate would be a fun field to get into,” Masotta states. “It turns out, it was a good move!”

His experience in sales and sale support gave him a good foundation of knowing how to get the job done and keeping clients involved and up-to-date on the transaction. His motto is to “always stay positive” and he is committed to doing what it takes to make his clients happy and deliver a stressfree transaction.

“That’s my tag line — ‘Stress free buying and selling,’” said Masotta, who has a proven track record of keeping his clients happy as can be seen by the number of referrals he continues to receive from past clients.

Masotta credits his brokerage for helping him stay on top of industry trends and market conditions.

“Pearce Company does a great job of disseminating updates which covers the latest news in the industry,” he said.

He also keeps up-to-date by staying on top of reports and news from the National Association of Realtors. Pearce also provides extensive training and management support.

For Masotta, the most rewarding aspect of his job is working with first-time home buyers and seeing a couple buy their first house.

“I had one client send me a thank you card that stated, ‘Thank you for everything, especially giving our daughter a yard to play in.’ That is the greatest thing,” he said.

A resident of Wallingford, Masotta and his wife have been members of Wallingford Country Club since 1993, where he has served on several boards and acted as president from 2014-2016. He is currently serving as president of his condominium association, The Ridges on Pond Hill.
