Goodspeed holding adult auditions

EAST HADDAM — Goodspeed Musicals is holding local Equity auditions for its 2019 season, on Sunday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in East Haddam, Conn. Goodspeed is seeking adult male and female actors.

All auditions are by appointment only. Appointments may be made starting immediately; call Company Management at 860-8738664, ext. 721, Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 p.m.

The Goodspeed 2019 season will be The Music Man in March, Because of Winn Dixie in May, and Billy Elliot in August. The Terris 2019 season will be My Name is Ben in April, and Passing Through in July. Candidates must be available for four weeks of rehearsal and a 5 to 12-week performance run. For The Music Man, male actors are needed. for the barbershop quartet.

Interested performers should bring a resume, photo and sheet music and be prepared to sing two short numbers: an up-tempo song and a ballad. Music must be legible and in the proper key (No lead sheets please). An accompanist will be provided. Under the leadership of Executive Director Michael Gennaro, Goodspeed Musicals is dedicated to the preservation, development and advancement of musical theatre and is the first theatre in the nation to receive two Tony Awards (for outstanding achievement). Goodspeed produces three musicals each season at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn., and additional productions at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., which was opened in 1984 for the development of new musicals. Goodspeed also maintains The Scherer Library of Musical Theatre and The Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre.
