BANKOWSKI, PETER “HOLLYWOOD” J.

Peter J. (Hollywood) Bankowski, 53 of Portland, son of the late Stanley and Joan Bankowski passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018 surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Kidney Disease.

Peter was a lifelong resident of Portland and Co-Owner of B and B Equipment, a business started by his father.

Peter’s Fondest memories were spent with his son. He also loved to snowmobile up North, spend summers in Watch Hill, and motorcycle riding with his partner and friends.

Peter is survived by his son Michael Bankowski, who he cherished, his partner Paula Chaffee, brother James Bankowski and wife Rita, sister Linda Saypalia, brother Stephen Bankowski and wife Lori. Niece, nephews and cousins whom he was very close to. He is also survived by his best friends: Bernie Jarzabek, Arne McLellan, James Kalinowski, Russ Sirois and so many others he was honored to call his friends.

Special thanks to Stephen for taking care of him so he could spend the last weeks of his life at home in peace. Paula for always being by his side and making him feel safe.

Steve and Lori Haglund for everything you did to help him in his last months of his life. Many thanks to everyone who visited him. Peter was overwhelmed by how many people loved and cared about him.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Freestone Avenue, Portland, CT.
