Slade leads Coginchaug co-op to win over Lewis Mills

Mike Slade scored on runs of 74 yards, 62 yards and 30 yards to lead Coginchaug/Hale Ray/East Hampton to a 34-12 win over Lewis Mills on Saturday.

Eli Rivera scored on a 1 yard run and David Skelps scored on a 25 yard run and Utah Griffen kicked four PATs.

Poly Prep 23, Hopkins 16 (OT): Avery Hootstein scored on a 10-yard touchdown run in overtime to lead Poly Prep (3-1) to its win in New Haven. Phil DeLise threw for 264 yards and a touchdown to lead the Hilltopper­s (3-4).

GIRLS SOCCER

Cheshire Academy 5, Hamden Hall 0: Reese Purdy had three goals and Sela Wiley added a goal and two assists to lead the Cats (4-7-2) to a win in Cheshire. Gabi Pesticci had six saves for the Hornets (0-8-1).

Cheshire 1, Mercy 1: Caroline Campion scored in the 33rd minute to lift the Rams to an SCC tie in Middletown. Lindsay Stevenson gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.

Hopkins 4, Westover 0: Emma Lipman and Ella Zuse each had a goal and an assist to lead the Hilltopper­s (6-5-2) to a win in New Haven. Anna Cruz had six saves for Westover (4-5-1).

FIELD HOCKEY

Cheshire 5, Hamden 0: Kiley Jackson had two goals and Mikayla Crowley added two assists to lead the No. 2 Rams (15-0) to their SCC win in Cheshire. Emma Romatzick had five saves for the Green Dragons (9-4-0-2).
