James Madison University
HARRISONBURG, Virginia — James Madison University welcomes the class of 2022 to campus. The incoming freshman class includes several Middlesex County residents: Clinton students Taylor Marnett, majoring in justice studies, and Georgia Nye, majoring in interdisciplinary liberal studies; Essex student Jacob Decker, majoring in finance; Durham student Ashley Schuetz, majoring in biology; and Old Saybrook student Nathan Brown, majoring in physics.

NEWTON, Massachusetts — Lasell College welcomed 564 new students from 18 states and 12 countries this fall, including Danielle Coughlin of Cromwell and Nathan Winalski of East Haddam.

LOWELL, Massachusetts — Spencer Gifford of Killingworth was recognized for academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Gifford, majoring in public health, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. To qualify, a student must have completed no fewer than 12 graded credits for the semester and earned at least a 3.25 grade-point average with no grade lower than C and without any incompletes.
