MIDDLETOWN — The Office of Policy and Management and the Personal Care Attendant Workforce Council are hosting a forum for employers of personal care attendants paid through the state’s Medicaid program. The 3rd annual forum will be held at Middletown High School in Middletown from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27, and will provide consumer-employers with valuable informatio­n on electronic visit verificati­on, PCA interview and hiring tips, an opportunit­y to meet one-on-one with fiscal intermedia­ry staff from Allied Community Resources, Inc. and Sunset Shores, and an update on the 2018 collective bargaining agreement.

The PCA Workforce Council is chaired by the Director of Health and Human Services, Policy Planning and Developmen­t Division of OPM, David Guttchen. The Council was establishe­d in 2012 to represent the interests of the state and PCA employers. The Council, and OPM’s Office of Labor Relations, negotiates and administer­s the PCA collective bargaining agreement with the union that represents PCAs, 1199 SEIU-NE.
