OPM holding annual forum
MIDDLETOWN — The Office of Policy and Management and the Personal Care Attendant Workforce Council are hosting a forum for employers of personal care attendants paid through the state’s Medicaid program. The 3rd annual forum will be held at Middletown High School in Middletown from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27, and will provide consumer-employers with valuable information on electronic visit verification, PCA interview and hiring tips, an opportunity to meet one-on-one with fiscal intermediary staff from Allied Community Resources, Inc. and Sunset Shores, and an update on the 2018 collective bargaining agreement.
PCA employers and their family members are strongly encouraged to attend. Registration is free and can be done online by going to http://portal.ct.gov/pcaworkforcecouncil/ or by calling 860418-6370.
The PCA Workforce Council is chaired by the Director of Health and Human Services, Policy Planning and Development Division of OPM, David Guttchen. The Council was established in 2012 to represent the interests of the state and PCA employers. The Council, and OPM’s Office of Labor Relations, negotiates and administers the PCA collective bargaining agreement with the union that represents PCAs, 1199 SEIU-NE.
