Bishop’s Orchards Cyclo-cross Race

GUILFORD – Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market & Winery in Guilford is hosting its first Cyclo Cross Race on Nov. 25 at the Bishop’s Little Red Barn in Guilford for the Connecticut CX Series race.

The rolling, technical Euro-style course features 140 feet of elevation gain per 1.7-mile lap and will tackle the terrain of Bishop’s Apple Orchard. Thaw out with postrace refreshments from one of the region’s best-known markets and wineries. This year’s event will benefit New Haven Farms, a nonprofit that promotes health and community development through urban agriculture.

Racers are allowed to race twice, with additional races costing $15. One-day beginner licenses may be purchased on site for $10 and are valid for a single day of racing. These may only be purchased by Category 5 men and women, for use in races open to those categories. Registration is currently available at https:// www.bikereg.com/bishopsorchards. Day-of registration will begin at 7:45am and closes 20 minutes before each event.

The first race will start approximately at 8:45 a.m. Registration and race location will be at Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market in Guilford on Route 1, 1355 Boston Post Road.
