Needleman has proven record of action

-

Bill Parcells once famously said, “You are what your record says you are.” No matter what you or your team said, if you were 0-5, that’s who you were. He was, of course, talking about football. The same is true in politics. No matter what you or your team say, you are what your voting record says you are.

Melissa Ziobron says she is for women’s rights. But she was one of only seven legislators to vote against House Bill 5376, the positive consent bill. That’s who she is. If you vote against gender equity, which would guarantee equal pay to women for doing the same job as a man, that’s who you are.

She says she is a proponent of public education. But if you vote against the school construction bill, which included funding for the WJJMS project in Colchester, cut $300 million from UConn, and $100 million from Connecticut’s community colleges, House bills 7501 and 1501 and Senate Bill 842, that’s who you are.

Voters of the 33rd Senate District have a choice. Norm Needleman’s record shows who he is as well. His record as a business owner and job creator will bring a unique perspective to Hartford. While others will talk about how they would create jobs, Norm can speak to how he actually has created jobs. While others pay lip service to working in a bipartisan manner, Norm Needleman has a record as first selectman of Essex, where he has worked with people of all political affiliations to keep taxes low while still maintaining services.
