Elect pro-business candidates Nov. 6

-

The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Central CT asks Connecticut residents to please consider supporting probusiness candidates this November. Our state, unlike most of the country, has been left out of the prolonged national recovery from the Great Recession. Connecticut residents and businesses deserve better.

A General Assembly and Executive Branch populated by pro-business legislators and officials can point us in a better direction. We can reverse the nonsustainable trend of outward migration and flat business growth that has plagued us for nearly a decade. Businesses can and will come back, and with them, jobs and families that will reinvigorate our communities.

When businesses make a comeback in Connecticut, so, too, will the home

building industry. Our industry will do its part to get Connecticut moving again. By building new homes at pre-recession levels, our industry will create 31,730 new jobs annually, generate $2.8 billion in wages annually and produce $447 million in taxes, fees and charges. In the end, our state’s ballooning deficits and economic malaise will become things of the past leading to economic prosperity and more affordable housing for all Connecticut residents.

Connecticut voters must do their part to make this economic rebirth a reality. Our state will not escape from the unacceptable status quo if we are not willing to help make change happen.
