The Bottom Line: Don’t let the score against Trumbull fool you. It was tied 7-7 at halftime and was a game before Darien remembered it was Darien and put its foot on the gas in the third quarter.

2. GREENWICH (11) 6-0 826 2 LL

Last Week: def. Ludlowe 56-7 This Week: at Ridgefield (4-3), Friday, 7 p.m. The Bottom Line: Stephen Bennett caught four passes, three for touchdowns, as the Cardinals ran away with their Thursday homecoming battle with once-beaten Ludlowe. Does Ridgefield have an answer?

3. HAND (4) 7-0 774 3 L

Last Week: def. Law 68-0 This Week: at Cheshire (2-5), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line: The Tigers scored on their first seven possession­s and added an intercepti­on return for a touchdown as they amassed a 53-0 halftime lead against Law. It’s all just practice for December.

The Bottom Line: The Gaels’ game at West Haven was postponed to Nov. 15 so the West Haven community could mourn the death of WH principal Pam Gardner from cancer.

Last Week: Def. Bridgeport Central 49-0 This Week: at Staples (6-1), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line: The Hogs wasted no time dispatchin­g Bridgeport Central and are hoping to get All-Stater Phil Pasmeg back in time for their anticipate­d FCIAC showdown vs. Jake Thaw and Staples Friday night.

6. SOUTHINGTO­N 7-0 544 8 LL

Last Week: def. East Hartford 42-27 This Week: at Enfield (3-4), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line: Matt Thompson had three intercepti­ons as the Blue Knights rallied from a 21-7 deficit to topple Raquan Tompkins and East Hartford in their Top 10 showdown. As such, they’ve assumed the Hornets’ former spot in the poll.

Last Week: def. Bunnell 45-8 This Week: at Brookfield (6-1), Friday, 7 p.m. The Bottom Line: Behind Dan Mason’s four touchdown runs, the Nighthawks bullied Bunnell in their battle of SWC unbeatens. They now their attention to continuing a 10-year unbeaten streak against arch-rival Brookfield.

Last Week: def. Torrington 55-0 This Week: at Seymour (6-1), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line: Another week, another shutout. That’s five now for the Greyhounds who, at last, get to sink their teeth into a worthy foe for the first time since Week 1. Does 6-1 Seymour even stand a chance?

9. BLOOMFIELD 7-0 327 10 S

Last Week: def. Northwest Catholic 20-6 This Week: vs. Berlin (7-0), Friday, 7 p.m.

The Bottom Line: Despite miserable conditions Saturday, the Warhawks took care of business by topping NWC. At long last, they’ll face a winning team in a CCC Division III battle vs. Zach Hrubiec and arch-rival Berlin, kick-starting a seasonendi­ng stretch against worthy opponents.

10. E. HARTFORD 6-1 315 6 LL

Last Week: lost to Southingto­n 42-27. This Week: at New Britain (6-1), Friday, 6:30 p.m. The Bottom Line: Raquan Tompkins and the Hornets couldn’t hold an early, two-touchdown lead in their Top 10 battle with Southingto­n and now find themselves in a tight, Class LL playoff race. It’s put-up-or-shut-up time in a playoffcal­iber showdown with equally desperate New Britain Friday night.
