Gianna’s Wish toy drive set for Nov. 10

MIDDLETOWN — Gianna, a 10-year-old girl from Middletown is seeking help to make her wish come true. Gianna wants to help the children at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital have a happy holiday. She is hosting a fundraiser toy drive for her 5th year on Nov. 10, to help fill the Auxiliary holiday shop at Yale with toys.

The Auxiliary shop allows families with sick children to choose holiday gifts for their child without ever having to leave the hospital.

Gianna also provides toys to the Toy Closet Program at Yale. The goal of the Toy Closet Program is to provide each pediatric patient with a toy or gift when they are discharged or to ease their fears as they go through a variety of therapies or medical treatments.

In anticipation of her big event, she has delivered toy collection boxes to Jessica’s Color Room, 558 Newfield St., Middletown, Estetcica Salon and Spa, 661 Main St., Cromwell, The Barre CT, 412 Cromwell Ave., Rocky Hill, and Gaylord Specialty Hospital in Wallingford for those who would like to donate toys. The collection boxes will be available until Dec. 8. The Nov. 10 event will include vendors, crafters, artisans, food, entertainment with a magician, children activities, and a surprise visitor, with raffle items to win!
