32nd House candidate Steinhauser wants economy to grow

-

Over the last six months, I have had the pleasure of knocking on thousands of doors all across Cromwell and Portland, and I’ve learned a lot from my conversations with you. I’ve heard your stories, your hopes and your worries. I’ve heard the things that matter to you, the things that our state needs to do to make life better for you, your family and your neighbors.

Whether you are a small business owner or a young parent juggling the expenses of raising a family, a recent grad looking for a job or a senior who wants to stay in the community you raised your family in, we are all trying to get by. It’s time for our state to put us first. It’s time to look to the future.

We need a plan to strengthen our middle class and grow our economy, starting with investing in education, strategic job training programs and infrastructure. We need our state to be a better partner in working with our towns toward property tax relief. We need health care that is affordable and an earned family medical leave insurance program that allows us the time to care for our families when we need it. That’s the Connecticut you’ve told me about, and if I’m elected, I’m going to fight like heck to get us there.

Next week, your vote is a demonstration of your commitment to real change in Connecticut. Your support can mark a turning point where we stop hedging our bets and invest in meaningful reform and new ideas. It would be the greatest honor to serve you as your representative in Hartford. I ask for your vote Nov. 6 so we can get to work improving the lives of everyone in our communities. Let’s do this together.

Laurel Steinhauser, Portland, candidate for state representative,

32nd District
