‘Fireside Tastings and Treasures’

MIDDLEFIELD — CVEF’s March 30 fundraiser, Fireside Tastings and Treasures, promises to be fun, tasty and educational. The event, being held at Powder Ridge, is a new one for the education foundation, which president Nancy Earls, is quite excited about.

“It’s going to be a wonderful night — friends, a roaring fire, a jazz guitar duo, wine and craft beer tastings, a harvest table to enjoy, antiques and collectibles appraisers on hand. All to support a great cause, CVEF, promoting lifelong learning projects in the community,” Earls said.

To appraise special items will be two experts in their fields. David Perrelli is the owner of Old Beautiful in Clinton, and a host of Antiques Trail on iCRV radio. He will appraise American and continental furniture, glass, ceramics, artwork, silver and metal objects, woodenware, and textiles.

Gay Sherman is the owner of online vintage jewelry shops, Vintage Under the Sea, both on Ruby Lane and Etsy. Sherman has several celebrity clients and has provided vintage jewelry for hits like AMC’s “Mad Men.” She will be appraising jewelry, glass, collectibles, clothing, and accessories.

Tickets are $45. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.coginchaugvef.org. The ticket price includes four beer or wine tastings; one antique or collectible appraisal; and hors d’oeuvres.
