Rockfall Foundation opens applications for environmental grant
MIDDLETOWN — The Rockfall Foundation has opened applications for its 2020 Annual Environmental Grant Program, available to nonprofit organizations, municipalities and schools, and has also announced a new multiyear grant for schools.
These grants are for projects that contribute to the general environmental education of the public, promote responsible environmental planning, or contribute to the preservation of the Connecticut River watershed, according to a news release.

funding for preschool to eighthgrade environmental education programs. The new grant aims to support continuous environmental literacy for children that offer nature discovery and realworld, handson, placebased learning, according to the agency.
Both programs have a competitive application process, and must benefit at least one of the towns in the lower Connecticut River Valley, which includes Middlesex County as well as Lyme and Old Lyme.
Applications are due by Nov. 7. Those interested in the program are encouraged to attend an informational workshop Sept. 10 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at foundation’s office at 27 Washington St.
