Two hurt after motorcycle crash
MIDDLETOWN — Two people were injured in crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Newfield Street on Wednesday night.
Sgt. Doug Clark, traffic bureau supervisor, said at approximately 8:45 p.m., police received a report of a serious motor vehicle crash involving a car and motorcycle on Newfield Street at Westfield Street. The MPD Traffic Bureau responded to investigate.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Sienna being operated by John Tisdale, 77, of Middletown, was traveling north on Newfield Street toward the intersection of Newfield and Westfield.
“A Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by a Christopher Didone, 27, of Fort Myers, Florida with a passenger, identified as Bobbi Bergstrom, 26, of Wallingford, was traveling south on Newfield Street toward the intersection of Newfield and Westfield.
“The motorcycle collided with the right rear side of the Toyota Sienna in the Newfield / Westfield intersection,” Clark said in a release.
Didone and Bergstrom were treated on scene by Middletown Fire and Hunters Ambulance. Both were transported to Hartford Hospital for further treatment.
Didone is listed in serious but stable condition at Hartford Hospital.
Bergstrom was released after treatment.
Tisdale did not report any injury.
The crash is under investigation.
