HEALING BELL RINGING: Trinity Episcopal

Church, 345 Main St., Portland, will hold a Healing Day Bell Ringing Ceremony, 2:45 p.m., Aug. 25 at the church. The ceremony commemorat­es the 400th Anniversar­y of the first landing of enslaved African persons in English North America. Trinity’s ceremony, which will include prayers led by Deacon Jessie Karpf, is one of many taking place at churches across the country at 3 p.m.
