CHESTER — Gener8or communications and the studios of Moving Pictures have been awarded a contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to work with the Health Services Research and Development Pain Research, Informatics, Multimorbidities, and Education Center of Innovation at VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven.

They will be a key partner in an HSR&D project where they will develop the content strategy and produce content for an online, interactive, evidencebased, multicomponent tool designed to assist veterans in safely tapering opioid pain medications, according to a press release.

“Moving Pictures comes highly experienced in creating visualbased content for health care clients, but also has direct experience with building evidencebased learning management systems, specifically for pain and addiction,” Dr. William Becker, core investigator at the PRIME Center of Innovation, VA Connecticut Healthcare System and Assistant Professor, Yale University School of Medicine, said in a prepared statement.

Gener8or/Moving Pictures continues to deepen its capabilities in health care marketing and online training programs. Over the past 30 years, the company has created content for nearly every health care institution in the state of Connecticut and into Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as numerous CME initiatives, the release said.

The company has also worked on evidencebased learning and cognitive behavioral therapy learning management systems for nearly a decade.

“We are proud to be connected with this project,” Steve Lovelace, president and executive director of gener8or/Moving Pictures, said in the statement. “It’s a competitive landscape and we appreciate the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for recognizing our accomplishments and how our experience can enhance this program.”

“The opioid crisis has reached epidemic proportions in this country,” Darlene Scirpo, executive producer at gener8or/Moving Pictures, said in the release. “To create a program that will directly and positively affect lives is some of the most important work we can do as an agency.”

The program is due to launch in early 2020.
