Dean College
FRANKLIN, Mass. — Dean College announces Mireille Fortin of Chester has earned a place on the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
WORCESTER, Mass. — Nicholas Cumello of Durham, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in environmental engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, was part of a student team that recently completed an intense, handson research project in an offcampus location in Massachusetts.
The project was “Evaluation of Think Blue Massachusetts’ Social Marketing Campaign.” In their project summary, the students wrote, “Think Blue Massachusetts is a campaign dedicated to educating the public on stormwater. Stormwater pollution is melted snow or rain that carries pollutants into local water bodies. The goals of this project were to evaluate the effectiveness of the Think Blue Massachusetts social media campaign, develop improvement strategies, and create a social marketing guide for further expansion.”
Christopher Brainard of Westbrook, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in environmental engineering, was a member of a team that recently completed an intense, handson research through the WPI project center in Mandi, India. The project was titled “Integrating Earthquake Preparedness at IITMandi.”
In their project summary, the students wrote, “The goal of our project was to create a Resource for Emergency Planning for the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi.
University of Rhode Island
KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island announce the spring 2019 dean’s list. To be included , fulltime students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Parttime students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Samuel Schavoir of Essex graduated from Colorado College with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Schavoir is a graduate of The Williams School and one of 537 undergraduates who earned a bachelor of arts at the May 19 ceremony.

CLEMSON, S.C. — Local students have been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2019 semester. To be named, a student achieved a gradepoint average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Bridget Turecek of Middlefield completed ColbySawyer’s internship requirement this summer with Plum Island Animal Disease Center in Orient, N.Y. Turecek is majoring in biology and is a member of the class of 2021.
