Fairfield field hockey
: Stags improved to 50 in onegoal games this season with 21 victory over Providence on Sunday. Zoe Rosen made eight saves in a game in which Fairfield was outshot 218. Emma Matlach scored the gamewinning goal on a penalty stroke. The Stags also topped Columbia 10 and are on a sevengame winning streak.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jimmy Slayton, Hartford: Senior goalkeeper from Wethersfield made eight saves in shutout wins over Fairfield and Central Connecticut State. The Hawks’ men’s soccer team has posted four straight shutouts.
HOMETOWN FOCUS
Will Harned, Tufts men’s soccer: Junior goalkeeper from Darien has posted three straight shutouts for the topranked team in Division III. He has a goals against average of 0.55 with the help of junior back Biagio Paoletta, a former Fairfield Prep star who has started five games.

913: Program record score for 54 holes by Quinnipiac women’s golf team in the Boston College Intercollegiate event.
2020: Year that Eastern Connecticut State will offer men’s golf program. The Warriors had a golf program from 19611982 and are expected to play their home matches at Windham Club in North Windham.
