Impeachment as an election strategy

- By Michael Trimbach Michael Trimbach lives in Monroe.

Democrats have been sounding their impeachment mantra like a bunch of whining 2yearolds. It would be near impossible to count the number of times Democrats have talked about the impeachment of Donald Trump dating all the way back to 2016 when he won the presidential election, even before he was inaugurated. The Democrats, your duly elected legislators who were selected to represent your interests, have instead wasted all of their political capital on chasing a pipe dream, impeaching Donald Trump, and why? Because he beat Hillary, who having violated the U.S. Espionage Act turned out to be the worst presidential candidate in history.

After the nothingburger Mueller report the Democrats still continued to pound the Russian collusion drum which had been a hoax and an illfounded investigation from the start with no substance. Why? Because the actual Russia collusion was conducted by the Hillary campaign, the TrumpRussia collusion was created as a diversion from her paidfor efforts to affect the 2016 election with help from the Russians and a fake dossier.

Since their initial strategic efforts to impeach Trump on the results of the Mueller report did not pan out, the Democrats then tried the racist strategy, saying Trump’s a racist, but when that gained no traction then they tried the recession strategy by trying to talk the U.S. economy into a recession (thanks to Trump we have a very strong U.S. economy) but then that didn’t work either, so I said to a colleague at that point, what strategy are they going to use next, impeachment again? Nailed it!

The Democrats have taken a page from the Obama playbook: if you can’t beat your opponent at the polls, dig up enough dirt to discredit them, and that was the strategy used by Obama to become a state senator from Illinois. Democrats are truly pathetic little creatures who run truly pathetic little candidates that cannot win at the polls so their strategy is to destroy their opponent any way and with any means they can think of.

The latest polls show that a majority of we the people are sick and tired of all the Democratic shenanigans and time wasted conducting empty investigations in search of a crime instead of spending their time doing what they were elected to do — legislate.

So now since the midterm elections when the Democrats took the majority in the House, can anyone point to any meaningful legislation that did not impede President Trump’s efforts to govern? They stymied his efforts on every issue they could so he would not be able claim any victories or show any successes, however President Trump has fulfilled many of his campaign promises in spite of an uncooperative and unfriendly Democratically controlled House. The Obama administration was all about form over substance and the Trump administration is all about substance over form. I’ll take substance over form because that is a business model that produces results. That’s the difference between a donothing politician and a resultoriented businessman.
