MIDDLETOWN — ConferMED, a leading eConsult provider developed by primary care providers, has appointed Dan Wilensky, MD, as Medical Director, according to a release.

“In this newly created role, Dr. Wilensky will provide clinical input and guidance to the ConferMED team and draw on his decades of experience as a practicing family doctor to ensure that ConferMED’s consults continue to provide the highest quality input to primary care providers nationwide and help them provide efficient and exceptional care for their patients,” the release reads.

ConferMED’s national network of board certified specialists in adult and pediatric fields offer primary care providers rapid specialist response, minimal workflow disruption, and enhanced patient experience. Providers utilizing the platform are often caring for patients with limited access to specialists, so ConferMED’s secure, HIPAAcompliant solution is being adopted by primary care providers and practices across the U.S.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Wilensky to the team,” said Daren Anderson, MD, Director of ConferMED. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a master clinician and educator. ConferMED’s strength is its strong roots in primary care. Having an experienced primary care provider on the team adds to that strength and helps ensure that ConferMED is focused on meeting the needs of our patients and their primary care providers.”

Dr. Wilensky has maintained a primary care practice at Community Health Center, Inc. in Meriden since 2003. He received his BA and MD from the University of Virginia and completed his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

“I appreciate the confidence of Dr. Anderson and the whole ConferMED team as we embark on this new, exciting relationship,” he said. “I intend to leverage my clinical experience as a Family Doctor and my experience teaching the next generation of clinicians to help ConferMED provide high quality consults to primary care providers nationwide.”
