Hunt, Lagase lead Sheehan to Fred Kelly tournament title

Caitlyn Hunt had 17 points and Hayleigh Lagase added 16 to lead the Sheehan girls basketball team to a 5540 win over Farmington in the championsh­ip game of the Fred Kelly Memorial Tournament in North Haven on Saturday.

After trailing 3026 at halftime, the Titans defense took over and held Farmington to only 10 points in the second half.

Emma Novajasky led Farmington with 15 points.

Hunt and Lagase were also named to the alltournam­ent team.

O’Brien Tech 63, Platt Tech 61: Miranda McGuire had 22 points and Amaya Hernandez added 15 to lead the Condors to a CTC win. Aaliyah Sanchez added 13 points and Contessa Davis had 11 for the Condors (31). Angie Tocci led the Panthers (12) with 29 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Morgan 56, Lyman Hall 44: Rob Zirlis had 19 points to lead the Huskies to a win in the consolatio­n game of the North Haven Holiday Tournament. Zach Johnson added 13 points and Jason

Cohen had 12 for the Huskies. Tyler Voisine had 10 points for the Trojans.

Notre Dame West Haven 102, Stamford 73: Zach Laput had 27 points to lead the Green Knights to a win in the championsh­ip game of the Winter Snow Jam Tournament in West Haven. Laput was named MVP of the tournament. Kairon Hooks added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the

Green Knights. Jay Jaudon led Stamford with 22 points.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Amity/North Haven/Cheshire 4, Hand 0: Haley Cable had two goals and Samantha Drane added a goal and an assist to lead the Blades to their SCC win. Megan Hart had 38 saves for the Tigers.
