Middlesex county college students achieve honors

Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, S.C. — More than 2,400 Coastal Carolina University students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester. That’s nearly 20 percent of the student body with a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99 for the spring semester.

Locals are: Logan Bellos, a languages and intercultu­ral studies major from Ivoryton, Nicholas Carta, a undeclared major from Chester, Bryce Cote, an accounting pre-major from Portland, Nikolaus Czarnota, a recreation and sport management major from East Hampton, Jackson Mantel, a hospitalit­y resort and tourism management pre-major from Cromwell.

An additional 802 students were named to the president’s list for achieving a 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester. To be honored, students must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average for the semester. They include Rachel Russo, a management pre-major, who lives in Clinton.

In other news, Shane Fiala of East Haddam earned a bachelor of science in business administra­tion in accounting Dec. 17 during the fall commenceme­nt ceremony.

Nichols College

DUDLEY, Mass. — Many students at Nichols College achieved dean’s list or president’s list honors during the fall 2019 semester, including locals Kevin Radavich of East Hampton, Ethan Powers of East Hampton, Benjamin Molesky of Old Saybrook, Alexis Finnerty of Chester and Elexa Belin of Middletown.

These honor rolls give recognitio­n to those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. In order to be included on the dean’s list, a student must have a minimum average of 3.5 for at least 12 undergradu­ate credit hours, and have received no grades below a Bduring the semester.

Students whose semester average is 3.85 or higher for at least 12 undergradu­ate credit hours with no grades below a B- achieve president’s list.

Southern New Hampshire University

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Southern New Hampshire University congratula­tes the following area students on being named to the fall 2019 president’s list: Erika Cantarella of Cromwell, Gyanna Russell of East Hampton, Megan Decker of Durham, Samantha Glance of Deep River, and Samantha Chapps of Old Saybrook.

Eligibilit­y requires a student accumulate an academic gradepoint average of 3.7 to 4.0 and earn 12 credits for the semester.

Trinity College

HARTFORD — The following local students were awarded faculty honors for the fall 2019 semester at Trinity College. These are awarded to students with a semester grade-point average of at least 3.667 on four graded courses, with no individual grade below a B-, and no incomplete grades pending.

They are: Gabe E. Mangiafico of East Hampton, Zach M. Herrmann of Killingwor­th, Brooke A. Agro of Middletown, Leah Joy Latimer of Middletown and Ryan Lau of Middletown.
