Kaman CEO is chamber breakfast keynote speaker

MIDDLETOWN — Chairman Don DeVivo of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced that Kaman Corp. Chairman, President and CEO Neal J. Keating will be keynote speaker at the next chamber Member Breakfast Meeting on Feb. 7. The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Hartford South, 100 Capital Blvd., Rocky Hill, with networking beginning at 7 a.m., breakfast buffet at 7:15 a.m. and the program from 8 to 9 a.m.

The meeting will be immediatel­y followed by a procuremen­t workshop, “Doing Business with Kaman.” The session will outline global Kaman Corp. procuremen­t opportunit­ies for supply chain companies.

The cost is $22 for members of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and $32 for nonmembers. Advance registrati­on required, and those interested in the procuremen­t workshop must attend the Member Breakfast Meeting. Register at www.middlesexc­hamber.com

Prior to Kaman, Keating has served as chief operating officer at Hughes Supply, a $5.4 billion industrial distributo­r; as chief executive officer of GKN Aerospace, a $1 billion aerospace subsidiary of GKN; as executive director on the board of directors of GKN and as a member of the board of directors of AgustaWest­land Helicopter.

From 1978 to 2002, he served in increasing­ly senior positions at Rockwell Internatio­nal, with his final assignment being executive vice president and chief operating officer of Rockwell Collins, Commercial Systems.

Keating serves on the board of directors for Hubbell Inc., on the MAPI Board of Trustees, the board of governors for Aerospace Industries Associatio­n, as a Trustee of Embry-Riddle Aeronautic­al University and a member of the board of directors for Avon Old Farms School.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineerin­g from the University of Illinois and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago. He competes in triathlons and is a three-time finisher of the Boston Marathon.

Since 2001, he has used his participat­ion in these events to raise money in support of the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, the Marine Corp/Law Enforcemen­t Foundation and the Navy SEAL Foundation.

He and his family reside in Farmington.
